Happy New Year!

We are getting ready to start the Winemaking Cera meetings for 2010.

Our first meeting will be on Jan 14th at 3:30. Scott Sublett has been nice enough to host this first meeting at Napa Cellars at the Sutter Home Production Facility south of St. Helena (100 S. St. Helena Hwy. on the East side of Hwy29 just North of Louis Martini). Check in at the guard station and they will direct you toward the barrel room. Topic of discussion will be white wine management. We can discuss a range of subjects pertaining to white wine management (oxidation, aromatics, ect). If anyone has an interesting wine sample they would like to share with the group please feel free to bring one.

At the meeting you can renew your membership and bring new members. Please bring a bottle of wine to thank our host.

In the next two meetings we will discuss enzymes and then fining, but if you have a topic that you are interested in talking about let me know and I will put it on the agenda.

Also, this year we are going to try a few social meetings. We all recognize the value of learning about wine, but sometimes it is nice to just have a glass.

Last note, we are going to try to use facebook to have an easy communication network.  If you are on facebook; you can friend CERA -- California Enological Research Association.

See you soon.
